Week 8: Pitch Bible Presentation

Our pitch bible presentation

Narrative short summary:

Episode 1:
We are introduced to our cast, a group of cyborgs attempting to escape their life as slaves to the humans
and reach ‘the factory’, where they can have their human parts removed, become full robots and live in
peace. However, they are hailed by a ship and quickly realise that the spacecraft they hijacked was a
space restaurant, and the beacon advertising it is still broadcasting. Deciding to fulfil the order to avoid
suspicion, the clueless cyborgs scramble to find something humans might like to eat. However, the only
thing left on the ship is their own meat...

Episode 2:
Engineer is troubled with the meager 1-star review their meal garnered, despite the other cyborgs lack
of concern. They only want to shut down the beacon. We see flashbacks to her time working for the
humans at the same resort as Jukebox, never receiving any praise. While she pities Jukebox’s own
struggles, she is jealous of the attention the humans give her, something that she has never had herself.
In the present, she completes another order but still fails to gain a good review. It’s then that another
problem presents itself - what will they do now the meat Captain surrendered for cooking has run out?

Episode 3:
Friendly begins to worry about Engineers increasing obsession with fulfilling human food orders, and
Captain is becoming quieter.
We see a flashback to Captain time spent piloting a supply vessel, her discovery of a flier for ‘the factory’,
and how a careless accident made her sure that she needed to flee to avoid replacement.
In the present, Friendly gives a speech to her about Engineers behaviour, but Captain is completely silent.
It becomes apparent that without her meat, she has stopped processing, and has entirely shut down.
Meanwhile, Engineer has settled on a solution for the lack of ingredients, and makes a grab for Jukebox.

Episode 4:
An injured Jukebox, Navi and Friendly all meet up to discuss the problem of Engineer. They decide to
focus their efforts and finding and shutting down the beacon - if there are no customers, Engineer will
have to stop.
We see flashbacks to Navi’s time as a racer for human entertainment, and how seeing the deaths of so
many other cyborgs on the track made her fearful and prevented her from the recklessness that would
win races. Fearing being replaced, she flees, and we see her stumble across Friendly.
In the present, after failing to find the beacon they decide someone must check on what Engineer is up
to, and Navi is selected. She finds her in the kitchen.

Episode 5:
When Navi doesn’t return, the other two decide to go after her. They find her with Engineer acting strange
ly. Engineer is very excited about the fact her reviews have been improving, and believes their
‘restaurant is taking off’. Friendly tries to rid her of her delusions, but after failing, she storms off to
search for the beacon once more.
We see a flashback to Friendy’s time working as a tour guide, and the frustration of terrible humans
constantly making her time a misery. She stumbles across the other cyborgs, and they hatch their plan
to escape together.
In the present, she goes to lament her failure to see that plan through to the silent form of Captain.
Engineer is cooking.

Episode 6:
In the final episode, Friendly realises that the rest of the cyborgs except for herself and Engineer are
dead, harvested for their meat. The ship is dead in the water. None of the plan matters anymore, not
even shutting down the beacon. Engineer is still delighted now that their is ‘nothing stopping their
restaurant’, oblivious to the reality of the situation.
Pitying her for the first time, Friendly agrees with her, and offers to invite their ‘guests’. She makes a
distress call to the humans, who come aboard and dismantle Engineer, ignoring her attempts to get
them to try the food she lovingly made.
Her human appearance allows Friendly to escape with the humans, pretending to be one of them.
She takes Captains processor with her, and a bloodstained copy of ‘the factory’ flier
